Announcing Copper Peak’s New Fulfillment Center: More Potential, Same High Level of Service
09.14.2022  |  by The Copper Peak Team

Copper Peak Logistics is excited to announce that we have secured a new home for our Napa based fulfillment operation. We recently celebrated the ground breaking of a new 250,650 sq. ft. wine fulfillment center being built by developer Scannell Properties and Arco National Construction. CPL will be the anchor tenant in the building, utilizing over 150,000 sq. ft. Based upon the current schedule, our plans call for a staged move beginning in April 2023 and full operations beginning in August 2023. This facility will replace our existing American Canyon location.

Our new fulfillment center is located on a 12-acre site just off Devlin Road, north of the airport and just above the industrial corridor. It is a true cross dock facility with 28’ clear ceiling heights, solar power, energy efficient lighting and cooling capabilities. It essentially triples our cubic operating capacity. But the best part has been the ability to customize everything to our specific needs and wants. This complements the 2020 expansion of our St. Louis facility, which is now operating from a 55,000 sq. ft. facility that quadrupled our size in the Midwest. Together, CPL’s footprint represents a strategic advantage for wineries looking for cost effective and timely DTC shipments.

The New Copper Peak Facility

While we’re only moving a few miles from our current location, we’re excited for a number of reasons. First (and most importantly), we’re working closely with Scannell, our development partner, to customize every aspect of this state-of-the-art facility. That will mean immediate operating efficiencies and enhancements. As the anchor tenant, we will have access to 150,000 square feet of space with 28-foot clear ceilings, an upgrade from our 80,000 sq. ft. facility in American Canyon. Every part of the space will be fully optimized, which means an even better wine fulfillment experience for you.

A Long-Term Investment with Immediate Benefits

Over time, we’ll be able to continue developing new services for our clients. But this isn’t a rapid expansion or a reconfiguration of our business model — we’re still focused on providing every winery with personalized attention, quick response times, and a truly seamless experience. Our new location simply gives us more ways to maintain that level of service!

The new Copper Peak facility will feature:

  • A Larger Footprint – Addressing the needs of our existing clients and the growth of DTC wine shipping in general, we simply needed a building with more space for warehousing and processing.
  • Cross-Dock Capabilities — Cross-docking means quicker transportation times, lower costs, and greater flexibility. By designing our building for cross-docking, we’ll be saving time from day one.
  • Solar Capabilities As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, we’re investing in solar power, and our development partners are focused on creating an energy-efficient facility with a minimal carbon footprint.
  • Better Access — Located at 221 and Highway 12/29 just south of the Meritage Resort and Spa, the building will improve accessibility for our clients in Napa and Sonoma Valley clients. And while we’re still in the early stages of construction, we’re already prepared to say those magic words that every Californian loves to hear: “Less traffic!”

Copper Peak is already the leader in providing white-glove service in the wine DTC market, and we’re ready to up the game even more. The additional space will mean more potential — with the same look, feel, and our trademark tenacity for unparalleled client service.

More Flexibility, Customization, and Coordination

Ultimately, we’re excited for what this move will mean for our team!  From the front offices to the loading zones, our new workspace will enhance communications, encourage teams to work together, and enrich our employees’ lives.

We’re excited to show off the new space, and over the next few months, we’ll showcase some of the progress of the new construction. It’s an exciting time for us — and we’re ready to share the excitement with everyone!

Stay tuned!
